This is the newest movie by the Director of Pi and Requiem for a Dream, Darren Aronofsky. In this film Aronofsky strays away from the surreal and focuses on the real. This is a documentary style drama about what could have happened to Hulk Hogan( in stead his son is a convicted felon, his Daughter is an unsuccessful pop singer and his wife left him...so, i guess he's on top of the world.), its a documentary style piece which adds to the whole character study.
I don't know about you but i find that at times character studies get s tedious and boring like say one hour photo (...NOT a horror movie!!!!11). However in this film Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei keep their performances fresh and energetic. This was in part due to Aronofsky not rehearsing the actors and letting them improvise when they felt necessary.
all this really does is make me want to see Aronofsky's version of Robocop!!!!!
